Prayer in the garment in which one has had intercourse and in which the junub has sweat

1428- عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ؛ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي فِي الثَّوْبِ الَّذِي يَعْرَقُ فِيهِ الْجُنُبُ‏.‏


1428 – Mālik from Nāfiʿ from Ibn ʿUmar that he would pray in the garment in which the junub would sweat.


1429- عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، قَالَ‏:‏ سُئِلَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ أَيُصَلَّى فِي الثَّوْبِ الَّذِي يُجَامِعُ فِيهِ‏؟‏ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ‏:‏ قَدْ جَامَعْتُ فِي ثَوْبِي الَّذِي عَلَيَّ الْبَارِحَةَ وَأَنَا أُصَلِّي فِيهِ‏.‏


1429 – al-Thawrī from Abū Saʿīd from Ibn al-Musayyab.  He said: Ibn ʿUmar was asked does one pray in the garment in which one has had intercourse?  So Ibn ʿUmar said: I had intercourse in the garment that was upon me yesterday, and I pray in it.


1430- عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ لاَ بَأْسَ أَنْ يُصَلَّى فِي الثَّوْبِ الَّذِي يَعْرَقُ فِيهِ الْجُنُبُ‏.‏


1430 – Hishām b. Ḥassān from ʿIkrima from Ibn ʿAbbās.  He said: There is no harm that one pray in the garment in which the junub sweats.


1432- عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ أُمِّ الْهُذَيْلِ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ، سُئِلَتَ عَنِ الثَّوْبِ تَعْرَقُ فِيهِ الْحَائِضُ فَقَالَتْ‏:‏ لاَ بَأْسَ بِهِ، تَعْنِي أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ فِيهِ‏.‏


1432 – Hishām b. Ḥassān from Umm al-Hudhayl that ʿĀ’isha was asked about the garment in which the menstruating women sweats.  So she said: There is no harm with it – meaning that she prays in it.


1434- عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ‏:‏ الْمَرْءُ يُصِيبُ أَهْلَهُ، ثُمَّ يَلْبَسُ ثَوْبَهُ، ثُمَّ يَغْسِلُ فَرْجَهُ فَلَعَلَّ ثَوْبَهُ أَنْ يُصِيبَهُ مِنَ الْمَنِيِّ شَيْءٌ، ثُمَّ يَغْتَسِلُ لِلصَّلاَةِ فَيُجَفِّفُ فِي ذَلِكَ الثَّوْبَ قَالَ‏:‏ لاَ بَأْسَ بِهِ‏.‏


1434 – Ibn Jurayj said: I said to ʿAṭā: The man has intercourse with his wife, then he wears his garment, then he washes his private.  So perhaps some of the semen contacted his garment.  Then he does ghusl for the prayer, and he dries in that garment.  He said: There is no harm with it.


1435- عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ، أَنَّ رَجُلاَ قَالَ لاِبْنِ عَبَّاسٍ‏:‏ أَضَعُ الْمُصْحَفَ عَلَى فِرَاشِي، أُجَامِعُ عَلَيْهِ، وَأَحْتَلِمُ عَلَيْهِ، وَأَعْرَقُ عَلَيْهِ‏؟‏ قَالَ‏:‏ نَعَمْ‏.‏


1435 – Ibn Jurayj said: ʿAṭā reported to me that a man said to Ibn ʿAbbās: Can I put the codex of the Quran on my bed, since I have intercourse on it (the bed), I have wet dreams upon it, and I sweat upon it?  He said: Yes.


1436- عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ قَالَ عَطَاءٌ‏:‏ لَيْسَ عَلَى ثَوْبِ الْحَائِضِ وَالْجُنُبِ غُسْلٌ، وَلاَ رَشٌّ‏.‏


1436 – Ibn Jurayj said: ʿAṭā said: There is no washing or sprinkling (that is mandatory) upon the garment of the menstruating woman and the junub.
