Semen that comes in contact with the garment and one does not know its location

1441- عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ابْنِ أَخِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ قَالَ‏:‏ أَنَا سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ‏:‏ إِذَا عَلِمْتَ أَنْ قَدِ احْتَلَمْتَ فِي ثَوْبِكَ، وَلَمْ تَدْرِ أَيْنَ هُوَ، فَاغْسِلِ الثَّوْبَ كُلَّهُ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَدْرِ أَصَابَهُ، أَوْ لَمْ يُصِبْهُ فَانْضَحْهُ بِالْمَاءِ نَضْحًا‏.‏


1441 – Maʿmar from al-Zuhrī from Ṭalḥa b. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAwf the son of the brother of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAwf.  He said: I heard Abū Hurayra saying: When you know that you have had a wet dream in your garment, and you do not know where it is, wash all of the garment.  If you do not know whether it came in contact with it or did not come in contact with it, then sprinkle it with water with a sprinkling.


1442- عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُوسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، مِثْلَهُ‏.‏


1442 – Maʿmar from Ibn Ṭāwūs from his father likewise.


1443- عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، مِثْلَهُ‏.‏


1443 – Maʿmar from Ayyūb from Nāfiʿ from Ibn ʿUmar likewise.


1444- عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، مِثْلَهُ‏.‏ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ‏:‏ فَإِنِ اسْتَيْقَنْتَ أَنَّهُ فِي نَاحِيَةٍ مِنَ الثَّوْبِ غَسَلْتَ تِلْكَ النَّاحِيَةَ وَرَشَشْتَ النَّاحِيَةَ الأُخْرَى‏.‏


1444 – Maʿmar from al-Ḥasan likewise.  al-Ḥasan said: If you have become certain that it is on a side of the garment, you wash that side and sprinkle the other side.


1449- عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، قَالَ‏:‏ إِذَا احْتَلَمْتَ فِي ثَوْبِكَ فَلَمْ تَعْلَمْ مَكَانَهُ فَارْشُشْهُ بِالْمَاءِ‏.‏


1449 – Maʿmar from Qatāda from Ibn al-Musayyab.  He said: When you have had a wet dream in your garment, and you do not know its location, then sprinkle it with water.


1450- عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ لَيْسَ عَلَى الثَّوْبِ جَنَابَةٌ‏.‏


1450 – al-Thawrī from Jābir from al-Shaʿbī from Ibn ʿAbbās.  He said: There is no janāba upon the garment.


1451- عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ بْنِ يُونُسَ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي الْمَنِيِّ يُصِيبُ الثَّوْبَ فَلاَ يُعْلَمُ مَكَانُهُ قَالَ‏:‏ يُنْضَحُ الثَّوْبُ‏.‏


1451 – Isrā’īl b. Yūnus from Simāk b. Ḥarb from ʿIkrima from Ibn ʿAbbās regarding semen that comes in contact with the garment and one does not know its location.  He said: The garment is sprinkled (with water).


1452- عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ الْقَيْحُ وَالدَّمُ وَالْبَوْلُ وَالْمَذْيُ يُصِيبُ الثَّوْبَ سَوَاءٌ كُلُّهُ، حُكَّهُ، ثُمَّ ارْشُشْهُ بِالْمَاءِ‏.‏


1452 – Ibn Jurayj from ʿAṭā.  He said: Pus, blood, urine, and madhī that comes in contact with the garment are all equal.  Rub it then sprinkle it with water.
