The man washing his head with sidr

1007 – Maʿmar from Abū Isḥāq from al-Ḥārith from ʿAlī.  He said: One who has washed his head with a (single) washing while he is junub has done so satisfactorily (i.e. properly fulfilled his duty), then he washes the rest of his body after.

Abū Isḥāq said: And al-Ḥārith b. al-Asmaʿ reported to us.  He said: I head Ibn Masʿūd saying: Any junub that has washed his head with hollyhock (al-khiṭmī) has done so satisfactorily.

1008 – al-Thawrī from Abū Isḥāq.  He said: al-Ḥārith b. al-Azmaʿ met me and he said: Shall I relate to you what I heard from ʿAbdullāh?  I heard him saying: Any junub that has washed his head with hollyhock has done so satisfactorily.
