Wool of the dead animal

204 – al-Thawrī from ʿAmr.  He said: There is no dhakā (Islamic slaughter) for the wool of the dead animal.  Wash it and make use of it.

al-Thawrī said: Have you not seen that we extract it while it is alive?

205 – al-Thawrī from Ibn ʿAwn from Ibn Sīrīn.  He said: The wool, the soft wool, the fleece, and the thall (wool, camel and goat’s hair together), there is no harm with it, and with feathers of the dead animal.

206 – Maʿmar from Ḥammād.  He said: There is no harm with the wool of the dead animal, however it is washed.  And there is no harm with feathers of the dead animal.

207 – Ibn Jurayj said: A person asked ʿAṭā about the wool of the dead animal and he disliked it.  And he said: I have not heard that it is permitted except for its skin when it has been tanned.
