Does the man wipe his head with the leftover of his arms?

17 – Maʿmar said: Someone who heard al-Ḥasan reported to me saying: It suffices you to wipe your head with what is in your hands from the wuḍū.

18 – Isrā’īl from Mūsā b. Abī ʿĀ’isha.  He said: I heard Muṣʿab b. Saʿd, and a man asked him, so he said: I do wuḍū and wash my face and my forearms, so does what is in my hands suffice me for my head or do I bring new water for my head?  He said: No, rather bring new water for your head.

19 – Maʿmar reported to us from Nāfiʿ that Ibn ʿUmar would bring new water for his head.

20 – Maʿmar reported to us from Ayyūb from Nāfiʿ from Ibn ʿUmar likewise.

21 – Ibn Jurayj said: Ibn ʿAjlān reported to us that the the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم used to wipe his ears with his face once, and wipe his head, inserting his hands in the water then wiping with them what he approached from the top of his head, then the back, then the temples, then he wiped his ears with a single wiping.  All of that with what was in his hand from that single wiping.

22 – Ibn Jurayj said: I said to ʿAṭā: Do you wipe your head with the leftover of your face?  He said: No, rather I dip my hands in the water and wipe with them, and I do not shake them off and I do not wait for what is on them of water to dry.  Indeed I am eager to wet the hair.
