The mouse that dies in the jar

290 – Ibn Jurayj said: I said to ʿAṭā: A mouse that fell in a jar and died in it.  So he said: One does not do wuḍū from it.  So if you had done wudu and you did not know, then you prayed and you did not know, then repeat it so long as you are in time.  He said: And if the time has passed you by then also repeat it.  I said: So something from water of that jar touched my garment, do I wash it or sprinkle it with water?  He said: No.

291 – al-Thawrī said: When you have need towards a water in which a mouse has fallen, then do wuḍū and tayammum combining them together.
