How much can one pray with a single tayammum

830- عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عُمَارَةَ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ أَنْ لاَ يُصَلِّيَ الرَّجُلُ بِالتَّيَمُّمِ إِلاَّ صَلاَةً وَاحِدَةً، ثُمَّ يَتَيَمَّمُ لِلصَّلاَةِ الأُخْرَى‏.‏


830 – al-Ḥasan b. ʿUmāra from al-Ḥakam from Mujāhid from Ibn ʿAbbās.  He said: It is from the Sunna that the man does not pray but a single pray with the tayammum, then he does tayammum for the other prayer.


831- عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ يُتَيَمَّمُ لِكُلِّ صَلاَةٍ‏.‏


831 – al-Thawrī from a man from Ibn ʿAbbās.  He said: One does tayammum for every prayer.


832- عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عُمَارَةَ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، وَمَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، مِثْلَهُ‏.‏


832 – al-Ḥasan b. ʿUmāra from al-Ḥakam and Manṣūr from Ibrāhīm likewise.


833- عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ قَالَ‏:‏ نُحْدِثُ لِكُلِّ صَلاَةٍ تَيَمُّمًا‏.‏

قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ‏:‏ وَكَانَ قَتَادَةُ يَأْخُذُ بِهِ‏.‏


833 – Maʿmar from Qatāda that ʿAmr b. al-ʿĀṣ.  He said: For every prayer we bring about a tayammum.

Maʿmar said: And Qatāda would go by it.


834- عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ سَمِعْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ يَقُولُ‏:‏ التَّيَمُّمُ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْمَاءِ يَقُولُ‏:‏ يُصَلِّي بِهِ مَا لَمْ يُحْدِثْ‏.‏


834 – Maʿmar, he said: I heard al-Zuhrī saying: The tayammum has the status of water.  

He is saying: One prays with it so long as one has not had a ḥadath.


835- عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، وَابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، قَالاَ‏:‏ يَتَيَمَّمُ وَتُجْزِيهِ الصَّلَوَاتُ كُلُّهَا مَا لَمْ يُحْدِثْ هُوَ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْمَاءِ‏.‏


835 – Saʿīd b. Bashīr from Qatāda from al-Ḥasan and Ibn al-Musayyib.  They said: One does tayammum and it suffices him for all of the prayers so long as he has not had a ḥadath.  It has the status of water.


836- عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ‏:‏ يُجْزِئُ بِتَيَمُّمٍ وَاحِدٍ مَا لَمْ يُحْدِثْ‏.‏


836 – al-Thawrī from ʿAmr b. ʿUbayd from al-Ḥasan.  He said: A single tayammum suffices so long as one has not had a ḥadath.
