Who did not run (the water) through his beard and said what flows upon it suffices you

117 - ʿAbd al-Raḥīm b. Sulaymān from Saʿīd al-Zubaydī.  He said: I asked Ibrāhīm: Do I run through my beard with the water, or does what has passed upon it suffice it?

He said: What has passed upon it suffices it.

118 – Ibn Idrīs narrated to us from Hishām.  He said: al-Ḥasan used to not do so – meaning he did not run (the water) through his beard.

119 – Wakīʿ narrated to us from Isrā’īl from ʿAbd al-Aʿlā from Ibn al-Ḥanafiyya.  He said: I saw him wipe the two sides of his beard and his cheeks, and he did not run (the water) through it.

121 – Wakīʿ narrated to us from Isrā’īl from Thuwayr.  He said: I saw Abū Jaʿfar not run (the water) through his beard.

122 – Wakīʿ narrated to us from Isrā’īl from Jābir from ʿĀmir, Muḥammad b. ʿAlī, Mujāhid, and al-Qāsim that they would wipe their beards and not run (the water) through it.

123 – Jarīr b. ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd narrated to us from Yazīd from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Laylā.  He said: I saw him do wuḍū, and I did not see him run (the water) through his beard.  Then he said: Thus did I see ʿAlī do wuḍū.

124 – Muʿtamir b. Sulaymān from his father from al-Ḥasan.  He said: What flows from your face upon your beard suffices you, and do not run (the water) through (it).
