Regarding the washing of the beard in the wuḍū

127 – Wakīʿ narrated to us from Sufyān from Muslim b. Abī Farwa from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Laylā.  He said: If you are able to reach the roots of the beard with the water then do so.

128 – Abū Khālid al-Aḥmar narrated to us from al-Ashʿath from Ibn Sīrīn.  He said: I saw him washing his beard.  So I said to him: Is washing the beard from the Sunna?

He said: No.

129 – Ghundhar narrated to us from Ibn Jurayj from ʿAṭā that he regarded (one should) wet the roots of it from the water – meaning the beard.

130 – Hushaym narrated to us from Yūnus from al-Ḥasan, and ʿUbayda from Ibrāhīm, that they considered it recommended to wipe the inside of the beard in the wuḍū.
