Regarding how the wiping of the head is done

150- حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ‏:‏ رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى الله عَلَيه وسَلَّم تَوَضَّأَ فَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ هَكَذَا؛ وَأَمَرَّ حَفْصٌ بِيَدَيْهِ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ حَتَّى مَسَحَ قَفَاهُ‏.‏


150 – Ḥafṣ b. Ghiyāth narrated to us from Layth from Ṭalḥa from his father from his grandfather.  He said: I saw the Prophet صَلَّى الله عَلَيه وسَلَّم do wuḍū and he wiped his head thus – and Ḥafṣ passed his hands upon his head until he had wiped the back of his neck. 


151- حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ قَالَ‏:‏ قُلْتُ لِحُمَيْدٍ‏:‏ أَكَانَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ إذَا مَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ يُقَلِّبُ شَعَرَهُ‏؟‏ قَالَ‏:‏ لاَ‏.‏


151 – Sahl b. Yūsuf narrated to us.  He said: I said to Ḥumayd: When Anas b. Mālik wiped his head, did he overturn his hair?  He said: No.


152- حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَمْسَحُ رَأْسَهُ هَكَذَا، مِنْ مُقَدَّمِهِ إلَى مُؤَخَّرِهِ، ثُمَّ رَدَّ يَدَيْهِ إلَى مُقَدَّمِهِ‏.‏


152 – Yazīd b. Hārūn narrated to us from Ḥammād b. Salama from Hishām b. ʿUrwa from his father that he would wipe his head thus, from his forepart (of his head) to his backend (of his head), then return his hands to his forepart.


154- حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَمْسَحُ رَأْسَهُ هَكَذَا، وَوَضَعَ أَيُّوبُ كَفَّهُ وَسْطَ رَأْسِهِ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَّهَا عَلَى مُقَدَّمِ رَأْسِهِ‏.‏


154 – Ibn ʿUlayya narrated to us from Ayyūb from Nāfiʿ that Ibn ʿUmar would wipe his head thus – and Ayyūb placed his hand in the middle of his head, then he passed it upon the forepart of his head.


155- حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ‏:‏ كَانَ سَلَمَةُ يَمْسَحُ مُقَدَّمَ رَأْسِهِ‏.‏


155  Ḥammād b. Masʿada narrated to us from Yazīd.  He said: Salama would wipe the forepart of his head.
