Who said the ears are from the head

156- حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعُ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى، قَالَ‏:‏ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى الله عَلَيه وسَلَّم‏:‏ مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ فَلْيُمَضْمِضْ وَلْيَسْتَنْشِق، وَالأُذُنَانِ مِنَ الرَّأْسِ‏.‏


156 – Wakīʿ b. al-Jarrāḥ narrated to us from Ibn Jurayj from Sulaymān b. Mūsā.  He said: The Prophet صَلَّى الله عَلَيه وسَلَّم said: Whoever does wuḍū then he is to rinse his mouth and rinse his nose, and the ears are from the head.


157- حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، وَالْحَسَنِ قَالاَ‏:‏ الأُذُنَانِ مِنَ الرَّأْسِ‏.‏


157 – ʿAbda b. Sulaymān narrated to us from Saʿīd from Qatāda from Saʿīd b. al-Musayyab and al-Ḥasan.  They said: The ears are from the head.


158- حَدَّثَنَا إسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، قَالَ‏:‏ الأُذُنَانِ مِنَ الرَّأْسِ‏.‏


158 – Ismāʿīl b. ʿAyyāsh narrated to us from ʿAmr b. Muhājir from ʿUmar b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz.  He said: The ears are from the head.


160- حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ الأُذُنَانِ مِنَ الرَّأْسِ‏.‏


160 – Wakīʿ narrated to us from Ḥammād b. Salama from ʿAlī b. Zayd from Yūsuf b. Mihrān from Ibn ʿAbbās.  He said: The ears are from the head.


162- حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ إسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ الأُذُنَانِ مِنَ الرَّأْسِ‏.‏


162 – Wakīʿ narrated to us from Isrā’īl from Jābir from Abū Jaʿfar.  He said: The ears are from the head.


164- حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَمْسَحُ أُذُنَيْهِ، وَيَقُولُ‏:‏ هُمَا مِنَ الرَّأْسِ‏.‏


164 - ʿAbd al-Raḥīm b. Sulaymān narrated to us from Muḥammad b. Isḥāq from Nāfiʿ.  He said: Ibn ʿUmar would wipe his ears and say: They are from the head.


165- حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ إسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، قَالَ‏:‏ مَا أَقْبَلَ مِنَ الأَذُنَيْنِ فَمِنَ الْوَجْهِ، وَمَا أَدْبَرَ فَمِنَ الرَّأْسِ‏.‏


165 – Wakīʿ narrated to us from Ismāʿīl b. Abī Khālid from al-Shaʿbī.  He said: Whatever faces forward from the ears is from the face, and whatever faces backward is from the head.


166- حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ؛ كَانَ يَغْسِلُ أُذُنَيْهِ مَعَ وَجْهِهِ، وَيَمْسَحُهُمَا مَعَ رَأْسِهِ‏.‏


166 – Ibn ʿUlayya narrated to us from Ibn ʿAwn from Ibn Sīrīn.  He would wash his ears with his face, and wipe them with his head.


170- حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ إبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ‏:‏ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ مَسْحِ الأَذُنَيْنِ مَعَ الرَّأْسِ، أَوْ مَعَ الْوَجْهِ‏؟‏ فَقَالَ‏:‏ مَعَ كُلٍّ‏.‏


170 – Ibn Fuḍayl narrated to us from Ḥuṣayn from Ibrāhīm.  He said: I asked him about wiping the ears with the head, or with the face.  So he said: With both.
