Who did not regard the wiping upon it and wiped upon his head

232- حَدَّثَنَا إسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ سَأَلْتُ جَابِرًا عَنِ الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْعِمَامَةِ‏؟‏ فَقَالَ‏:‏ أَمِسَّ الْمَاءَ الشَّعْرَ‏.‏


232 – Ismāʿīl b. ʿUlayya narrated to us from ʿAbbād b. Isḥāq from Abū ʿUbayda b. Muḥammad b. ʿAmmār b. Yāsir.  He said: I asked Jābir about wiping upon the turban.  So he said: Make the water touch the hair.


233- حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعُ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي لَبِيدٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ رَأَيْتُ عَلِيًّا أَتَى الْغَيْطَ عَلَى بَغْلَةٍ لَهُ، وَعَلَيْهِ إزَارٌ وَرِدَاءٌ وَعِمَامَةٌ وَخُفَّانِ، فَرَأَيْتُهُ بَالَ، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ فَحَسَرَ الْعِمَامَةَ، فَرَأَيْتُ رَأْسَهُ مِثْلَ رَاحَتِي، عَلَيْهِ مِثْلُ خَطِّ الأَصَابِعِ مِنَ الشَّعْرِ فَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ‏.‏


233 – Wakīʿ b. al-Jarrāḥ narrated to us from al-Rabīʿ b. Sulaym from Abū Lubayd.  He said: I saw ʿAlī come to the field on a mule of his, and he had a loincloth, robe, turban and khuffs on.  I saw him urinate, then he did wuḍū and he uncovered the turban.  So I saw that his head was like my palm, the like of lines of fingers from the hair upon it.  So he wiped his head, then he wiped upon his khuffs.


234- حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ؛ أَنَّهُ كَانَ لاَ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْعِمَامَةِ‏.‏


234 – Yaḥyā b. Ādam narrated to us from Sufyān from ʿUbaydullāh from Nāfiʿ from Ibn ʿUmar that he would not wipe upon the turban.


235- حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشِ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، قَالَ‏:‏ كَانَ إذَا كَانَتْ عَلَى إبْرَاهِيمَ عِمَامَةٌ، أَوْ قَلَنْسُوَةٌ رَفَعَهَا، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ عَلَى يَافُوخِهِ‏.‏


235 – Abū Bakr b. ʿAyyāsh narrated to us from Mughīra.  he said: When there was a turban or a cap on Ibrāhīm, he raised it then he wiped upon the top of his head.


236- حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ، قَالَ‏:‏ رَأَيْتُ الشَّعْبِيَّ تَوَضَّأَ فَحَسَرَ الْعِمَامَةَ‏.‏


236 – Wakīʿ narrated to us from Abū al-Bakhtarī.  He said: I saw al-Shaʿbī do wuḍū and he uncovered the turban.


237- حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَنْزِعُ الْعِمَامَةَ وَيَمْسَحُ رَأْسَهُ بِالْمَاءِ‏.‏


237 – Maʿn b. ʿĪsā narrated to us from Mālik b. Anas from Hishām from his father that he would take off the turban and wipe his head with the water.


238- حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إدْرِيسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيه وسَلَّم تَوَضَّأَ فَرَفَعَ الْعِمَامَةَ فَمَسَحَ مُقَدَّمَ رَأْسِهِ‏.‏


238 – ʿAbdullāh b. Idrīs narrated to us from Ibn Jurayj from ʿAṭā that the Messenger of God صَلَّى الله عَلَيه وسَلَّم did wuḍū, so he lifted the turban and wiped the forepart of his head.
