Who would pray the prayers with a single wuḍū

285- حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، وَطَاوُوس، وَمُجَاهِدٍ؛ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُصَلُّونَ الصَّلَوَاتِ كُلَّهَا بِوُضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ‏.‏


285 - Ḥafṣ narrated to us from Layth from ʿAṭā, Ṭāwūs, and Mujāhid that they would pray all of the prayers with a single wuḍū.


287- حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، قَالَ‏:‏ قَالَ سَعْدٌ‏:‏ إذَا تَوَضَّأْتَ فَصَلِّ بِوُضُوئِكَ ذَلِكَ مَا لَمْ تُحْدِثْ‏.‏


287 – Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd narrated to us from Masʿūd b. ʿAlī from ʿIkrima.  He said: Saʿd said: When you have done wuḍū pray with that wuḍū of yours so long as you have not had a ḥadath (i.e. until your wuḍū has been broken).


289- حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ رَأَيْتُ الشَّعْبِيَّ يُصَلِّي الصَّلَوَاتِ بِوُضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ‏.‏


289 – Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd narrated to us from Mujālild.  He said: I saw al-Shaʿbī praying the prayers with a single wuḍū.


291- حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إدْرِيسَ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ‏:‏ يُصَلِّي الرَّجُلُ الصَّلَوَاتِ كُلَّهَا بِوُضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ، مَا لَمْ يُحْدِثْ، وَكَذَلِكَ التَّيَمُّمُ‏.‏


291 – ʿAbdullāh b. Idrīs narrated to us from Hishām from al-Ḥasan.  He said: The man prays all of the prayers with a single wuḍū so long as he has not had a ḥadath.  And likewise is the tayammum.


295- حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ إسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ تُصَلَّي الصَّلَوَاتُ كُلُّهَا بِطُهُورٍ وَاحِدٍ‏.‏


295 – Wakīʿ narrated to us from Isrā’īl from Jābir from Abū Jaʿfar.  He said: All of the prayers are prayed with a single purification.


296- حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنِ أَبِي هِلاَلٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، قَالَ‏:‏ لاَ وُضُوءُ إِلاَّ مِنْ حَدَثٍ‏.‏


296 – Wakīʿ narrated to us from Abū Hilāl from Qatāda from Abū Mūsā.  He said: There is no wuḍū save from a ḥadath.


297- حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنِ أَبِي هِلاَلٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، قَالَ‏:‏ الْوُضُوءُ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَدَثٍ اعْتِدَاءٌ‏.‏


297 – Wakīʿ narrated to us from Abū Hilāl from Qatāda from Saʿīd b. al-Musayyab.  He said: The wuḍū without a ḥadath is a wrongdoing.


298- حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، قَالَ‏:‏ قُلْتُ لِشُرَيْحٍ‏:‏ أَتَوَضَّأُ لِكُلِّ صَلاَةٍ‏؟‏ قَالَ‏:‏ انْظُرْ مَاذَا يَصْنَعُ النَّاسُ‏.‏


298 – Ibn Abī ʿAdī narrated to us from Ibn ʿAwn from Ibn Sīrīn.  He said: I said to Shurayḥ: Do you do wuḍū for every prayer?

He said: Look at what the people are doing. 


300- حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ‏:‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيه وسَلَّم يَتَوَضَّأُ لِكُلِّ صَلاَةٍ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْفَتْحِ صَلَّى الصَّلَوَاتِ كُلَّهَا بِوُضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ‏.‏


300 – Wakīʿ narrated to us from Sufyān from Muḥārib b. Dithār from Ibn Burayda from his father that he said: The Messenger of God صَلَّى الله عَلَيه وسَلَّم would do wuḍū for every prayer.  So when it was the day of the conquest (of Mecca), he prayed all of the prayers with a single wuḍū.
