Who permitted wuḍū with the remaining drink of the cat

326- حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، قَالَ‏:‏ كَانَ أَبُو قَتَادَةَ يُدْنِي الإِنَاءَ مِنَ السِّنَّوْرِ فَيَلَغُ فِيهِ، فَيَتَوَضَّأُ بِسُؤْرِهِ وَيَقُولُ‏:‏ إنَّمَا هُوَ مِنْ مَتَاعِ الْبَيْتِ‏.‏


326 – Ibn ʿUlayya narrated to us from Ayyūb from Abū Qilāba.  He said: Abū Qatāda would bring the vessel close to the cat and it would drink in it, and he would do wuḍū with its remaining drink.  He would say: It is only from the chattel of the house (matāʿ al-bayt).


328- حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ حَكِيمٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا وَائِلٍ عَنْ سُؤْرِ السِّنَّوْرِ‏؟‏ فَقَالَ‏:‏ لاَ بَأْسَ بِهِ‏.‏


328 – Wakīʿ narrated to us from Misʿar from Ibn Ḥakīm.  Hes aid: I asked Abū Wā’il about the remaining drink of the cat.  So he said: There is no harm with it.


329- حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنِ الرُّكَيْنِ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتُ دَابٍ، قَالَتْ‏:‏ سَأَلْتُ الْحُسَيْنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ عَنِ الْهِرِّ‏؟‏ فَقَالَ‏:‏ هُوَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ‏.‏


329 – Sharīk narrated to us from al-Rukayn from Ṣafiyya bt. Dāb.  She said: I asked al-Ḥusayn b. ʿAlī about the cat.  So he said: It is from the people of the house (ahl al-bayt).


330- حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ الْهِرُّ مِنْ مَتَاعِ الْبَيْتِ‏.‏


330 – Ibn ʿUlayya narrated to us from Khālid from ʿIkrima from Ibn ʿAbbās.  He said: The cat is from the chattel of the house.


331- حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ، قَالَ‏:‏ وُضِعَ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ طَهُورُهُ، فَشَرِبَتْ مِنْهُ السِّنَّوْرُ، فَجَاءَ عَبْدُ اللهِ لِيَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْهُ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ‏:‏ إنَّ السِّنَّوْرَ قَدْ شَرِبَتْ مِنْهُ، فَقَالَ‏:‏ إنَّمَا هِيَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ‏.‏


331 – Abū al-Aḥwaṣ narrated to us from Simāk from a man from the people of Medina.  He said: A purification was set for ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar and the cat drank from it.   ʿAbdullāh came to do wuḍū from it, and it was said to him: The cat drank from it.  So he said: It is only from the people of the house.


333- حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْعَدَنِيِّ، قَالَ‏:‏ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ يَقُولُ‏:‏ لاَ بَأْسَ أَنْ يُتَوَضَّأَ بِفَضْلِ الْهِرِّ، وَيَقُولُ‏:‏ هِيَ مِنْ مَتَاعِ الْبَيْتِ‏.‏


333 – Rawḥ b. ʿUbāda narrated to us from Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-ʿAdanī.  He said: I heard Muḥammad b. ʿAlī saying: There is no harm with doing wuḍū with the leftover of the cat.  

And (I heard him) saying: It is from the chattel of the house.


335- حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ؛ أَنَّهُ كَانَ لاَ يَرَى بَأْسًا بِسُؤْرِ السِّنَّوْرِ‏.‏


335 – ʿAbd al-Raḥīm narrated to us from Ashʿath from al-Ḥasan that he did not regard there to be any harm with the remaining drink of the cat.


338- حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ‏:‏ حدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ أَبُو الضَّحَّاكِ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ، عَنْ مَوْلاَهَا عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْجَابِرِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ؛ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ سُؤْرِ الْهِرِّ‏؟‏ فَقَالَ‏:‏ لاَ بَأْسَ بِهِ‏.‏


338 – Wakīʿ narrated to us.  He said: Yaḥyā b. Muslim Abū al-Ḍaḥḥāk al-Hamdānī narrated to me from his mother from her master ʿAwf b. Mālik al-Jābirī from ʿAlī that he was asked about the remaining drink of the cat.  So he said: There is no harm with it.
