Sūra al-Naṣr (The Help), Medinan, 3 āyāt

{ إِذَا جَآءَ نَصْرُ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْفَتْحُ } * { وَرَأَيْتَ ٱلنَّاسَ يَدْخُلُونَ فِي دِينِ ٱللَّهِ أَفْوَاجاً } * { فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْهُ إِنَّهُ كَانَ تَوَّاباً }

(1) When the help of God has come and the victory (2) And you have seen the people entering the religion of God in troops (3) So glorify by the praise of your Lord and seek His forgiveness indeed He is oft-turning.

When the help of God has come and the victory” This sūra was sent down after the conquest of Mecca and Ta’if “And you have seen the people entering the religion of God” meaning the people of Yemen “in troops” a company from every direction, the tribe altogether and the group in their entirety, not by one or two or three, then your term (of death) has become present “So glorify by the praise of your Lord” He is saying: So do much of the remembrance of your Lord “and seek His forgiveness” from sins “indeed He is oft-turning” to the one who seek forgiveness.

This sūra was a sign of the death of the Prophet He recited it to Abū Bakr and ʿUmar, so they were gladdened, and 'Abdullāh b. 'Abbās heard it so he cried.  So the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said to him: You have told the truth.

The Prophet  صلى الله عليه وسلم lived for eighty days after it.  And the Messenger of God صلى الله عليه وسلم wiped his hand upon the head of Ibn ʿAbbās, and said: O God, make him learned in the religion and teach him the ta’wīl (interpretation of the Quran).
