Hadith‎ > ‎Āmālī Aḥmad b. ʿĪsā‎ > ‎Prayer‎ > ‎

Character of the standing in the prayer, the sujūd, the rising up, and the sitting

Muḥammad said: I saw Aḥmad b. ʿĪsā when he did takbīr in the beginning of the prayer, he sent his hands upon his thighs while he was standing.  He did not put one upon the other.

And I saw Aḥmad b. ʿĪsā when he did sujūd he joined his fingers and put his hands next to his head similarly to how they were in the takbīr.

And I saw Aḥmad b. ʿĪsā when he sat in the tashahhud, he put his arms upon his thighs, and the fingers of his hands were open close to his knees.

And I saw Aḥmad b. ʿĪsā when he sat between the two sajdas, and when he was doing the tashahhud, stretching (doing iftirāsh) his left leg, and erecting the right.

And I saw Aḥmad b. ʿĪsā when he rose his head from the second prostration in the first rakʿa from the obligatory prayer, he rose up from the sujūd to standing, and not returning his buttocks to the ground.  And likewise was ʿAbdullāh b. Mūsā, rising from the sujūd to standing, and not returning his buttocks to the ground.

Ibn Isḥāq narrated to me.  He said: I saw Aḥmad b. ʿĪsā rise up in his prayer to standing, not propping himself up with his hands on the ground.

Muḥammad said: And I saw him when he had become weak prop himself up.
