Chapter 14

A wet mouse or a pig contacting one’s clothing

1 – al-Kulayni narrated from Muhammad b. Yahya from al-`Amraki b. `Ali an-Naysaburi from `Ali b. Ja`far from his brother Musa عليه السلام.  He said: I asked him about the wet mouse that drops in the water, walking on the clothing.  Does one pray in it?  He said: Wash what you see of its trace, and what you do not see then sprinkle it with water.

2 – From him from Muhammad b. Yahya from al-`Amraki b. `Ali from `Ali b. Ja`far from Musa b. Ja`far عليهما السلام.  He said: I asked him about the man who a pig came in contact with his garment and he did not wash it, and he remembered that while he was in his salat.  How is he to act?  He said: If he had entered in his salat then he is to continue.  And if he had not entered into his salat, then he is to sprinkle (water) on what it came in contact with from his garment, unless there is a trace (from the pig) on it, then he is to wash it.
