Chapter 14

Qada of the fasts missed in travel being obligatory, but not the completion of the prayers that were shortened

1 – Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn by his isnad from `Abdullah b. Sinan from Abu `Abdillah عليه السلام in a hadith wherein he said: Allah has permitted breaking the fast and shortening (the prayer) for the traveler, and He obligated upon him the qada of the fasting and did not obligate upon him the completion of the salat.  And the Sunna is not compared (i.e. qiyas is not done with the Sunna).

2 – And by his isnad from al-Halabi from Abu `Abdillah عليه السلام in a hadith wherein he said: If he went out prior to the day halving, he is to break his fast and to do qada of that day.

And al-Kulayni narrated it and the Shaykh as has passed, and thus the one prior to it.
