al-Baqara

5 - "Those are upon guidance from their Lord, and those they are the ones who prosper."

25 - "And give glad tidings to those who believe and work righteousness, that for them are gardens beneath which rivers flow; whenever they are provided with fruit therefrom they say, 'This is what we were provided with before,' and they shall be provided with the like; and there are pure wives for them therein, and they shall dwell therein forever."

43 - "And establish the salat and pay the zakat and bow with those who bow"

138 - "The baptism of Allah; and who is there that baptizes fairer than Allah, and we are worshippers of Him"

143-144 - "And thus have We made you a middle nation, to be witnesses upon mankind, and that the Messenger may be a witness upon you. And We did not appoint the qibla you were upon, except that We might know who followed the Messenger from him who turns upon his -- though it were a grave thing save for those whom Allah has guided; but Allah would never leave your faith to waste - truly, Allah is All-gentle with the people, All-compassionate. We have seen you turning your face about in the sky; now We will surely turn you to a qibla that shall satisfy you. Turn your face towards the Holy Mosque; and wherever you are, turn your faces towards it. Those who have been given the Book know it is the truth from their Lord; Allah is not heedless of what they do."

148 - "Everyone has his direction to which he turns; so be you forward in good works. Wherever you are, Allah will bring you all together; surely Allah is powerful over everything."

165-167 - "Yet there be men who take to themselves compeers apart from Allah, loving them as Allah is loved.  If only the evildoers might see, when they see the punishment, that the power altogether belongs to Allah, and that Allah is severe in punishment.  When those who were followed disassociate from those that followed, and they see the punishment and their ties are cut asunder.  And those that followed say: Had we but another turn, then would we disassociate from them as they disassociated from us. So will Allah show them their deeds as regrets for them, and they shall not come forth from out the Fire."

188 - "And devour not your wealth among yourselves vainly, nor present it to the judges that you may devour a portion of the wealth of men sinfully, while you know."

189 - "They question you concerning the new moons. Say: 'They are appointed times for the people, and the hajj.' It is not piety to come to the houses from the backs of them; but piety is to be godfearing; so come to the houses by their doors, and fear Allah; haply so you will prosper."

193 - "And fight them until there is no more sedition and the religion is for Allah, but, if they desist, then let there be no aggression save against the wrongdoers."

207 - "And there is from the people someone who sells his soul craving those things that are pleasing unto Allah, and Allah is kind unto His servants."

224 - "And do not make Allah a hindrance through your oaths to being pious and godfearing, and putting things right between men. And Allah is hearing, knowing."

225 - "And Allah will not take you to task for thoughtlessness in your oaths but He will take you to task for what your hearts have earned.  And Allah is forgiving, clement."

253 - "Those Messengers, some We have preferred above others; some there are to whom Allah spoke, and some He raised in rank. And We gave `Isa son of Maryam the clear signs, and confirmed him with the Holy Spirit. And had Allah willed, those who came after him would not have fought one against the other after the clear signs had come to them; but they fell into variance, and some of them believed, and some disbelieved.  And had Allah willed they would not have fought, however Allah does whatever He intends."

256 - "There is no compulsion in religion; the right way has been distinguished from the wrong, and whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has laid hold of the firmest handle that will not break.  And Allah is All-hearing, All-knowing."

257 - "Allah is the Wali of those who believe, taking them out from darkness to the light.  And those who disbelieve their awliya are Taghut, taking them out from the light to darkness.  Those are the companions of the Fire, dwelling therein for aye."

274 - "Those who expend their wealth by night and day, secretly and openly, they shall have their reward with their Lord. No fear shall come on them, nor shall they grieve."
