سورة المائدة

Sura al-Ma’ida (the Table)

1-2 - "O you who believe, fulfill the covenants.  Lawful for you are the cattle quadrupeds, save what is here recited to you, game not being allowed for you while you are in a consecrated state.  Verily Allah ordains what He will.  O you who believe, do not profane the sha`a’ir of Allah, nor the sacred month, nor the offering, nor the garlands, nor those who sojourn at the Sacred House, craving grace from their Lord and His pleasure. But when you are in lawful state again, then hunt; and let not ill-will against the people who turned you from the Sacred Masjid make you transgress; but help one another in righteousness and piety, and do not help one another to sin and enmity; but fear Allah, - verily, Allah is severe in punishment."

3 - "Forbidden to you are the dead animal, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that which is devoted to other than Allah, and the strangled (an-munkhaniqa), and the knocked down (al-mawqudha), and the one that falls down (al-mutaraddiya), and the gored (an-natiha), and what predatory animals have eaten - except what you make dhaki - and what is slaughtered upon the nusub, and that you seek to know what is allotted to you by the azlam, that is a transgression. Today shall those who disbelieve in your religion despair; do not then fear them, but fear Me - Today I have perfected for you your religion, and completed upon you My favor, and I am pleased for you to have Islam for a religion. But he who is forced by hunger, not inclined to sin, verily, Allah is forgiving, compassionate?"

4 - "They ask you what is lawful for them. Say, 'Lawful for you are good things and what you have taught the beasts of prey (to catch), trained as hunting dogs; - you teach them as Allah taught you; - so eat of what they catch for you, and mention the name of Allah over it, and fear Allah, verily, Allah is swift in reckoning."

5 - "Lawful for you today are the good things, and the food of those to whom the Book has been given is lawful for you, and your food is lawful for them; and the chaste women of those who believe, and the chaste women of those to whom the Book has been given before you, - when you have given them their hire, living chastely and not fornicating, and not taking paramours. But whoso disbelieves in the faith, of a truth his work is vain, and he shall be in the Hereafter of those who lose."

11 - "O you who believe, remember Allah's favour upon you, when a people intended to stretch their hands forth against you, but He withheld their hands from you.  Fear Allah then, and upon Allah let the believers rely."

48 - "And We have sent down to you the Book with the truth, confirming the Book that was before it, and assuring it. So judge between them by what Allah has sent down, and do not follow their caprices, to forsake the truth that has come to you. To every one of you We have appointed a law and a way. If Allah had willed, He would have made you one nation; but that He may try you in what has come to you. So be you forward in good works; unto Allah shall you return, all together; and He will tell you of that wherein you differ."

55 - "Your Wali is only Allah, and His Messenger, and those who believe, those who establish the salat and give the zakat while they bow."
