24

24 – And We made from them Imams guiding by our command, when they were patient, and were sure of Our signs.

[Tafsir al-Qummi] Humayd b. Ziyad from Muhammad b. al-Husayn from Muhammad b. Yahya from Talha b. Zayd from Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father عليهم السلام.  He said: The Imams in the book of Allah are two Imams: the just Imam and the unjust Imam.  Allah said “And We made from them Imams guiding by our command” (32:24) not by the command of the people, preceding the command of Allah before their command, and the ruling of Allah before their ruling.  He said “And We made them Imams calling to the Fire” (28:41) preceding their command before the command of Allah, and their ruling before the ruling of Allah, and going by their whims contrary to what is in the book of Allah.
