The dislike of argument regarding the Quran

1 – From Zurara from Abu Ja`far عليه السلام.  He said: Beware you of quarrel, for it thwarts the work and destroys the religion.  And if one of you should adduce the aya for proof/refutation, he would fall in it further than the sky.

2 – From al-Ma`mar b. Sulayman from Abu `Abdillah عليه السلام.  He said: My father عليه السلام said: A man does not strike a part of the Quran with (another) part but that he commits kufr.

4 – From Dawud b. Farqad from Abu `Abdillah عليه السلام.  He said: Do not say for every aya this is a man and this is a man.  From the Quran there is a halal and from it there is a haram, and in it is information of who was prior to you, and report of what is after you, and ruling of what is between you.  So accordingly, the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله was delegated to in it, if he wanted he did the thing, and if he wanted he remembered until His (or: his) obligations (fara’id) were obligated, and his fifths were divided into fifths, a right upon the people that they be taken by it, for Allah said “And what the Messenger gives you, take; and what he forbids you, desist from” (59:7)
